01 / PROBLEM

The Problem

Sunheart had a flagship product launch in Morbi and the brief was clear - create a surface finish the market had never seen before. The vitrified tile segment was entirely dominated by glossy and matte finishes with no third category in existence. There was no reference point, no existing formula to follow, and no precedent to build on. The timeline was under 30 days. The product had to be visually extraordinary, technically sound, and ready for a live launch where architects and industry professionals would evaluate it in person.

02 / INTERVENTION

The Strategic Intervention

Aakriti explored metallic glaze on vitrified porcelain - a finish rarely attempted at scale and never executed on large format slabs in a production context. Each trial was evaluated against two criteria — visual distinctiveness and production viability. Digital carving ink was introduced to create a controlled repelling effect on the surface, producing natural depth and movement that no existing finish category could claim. The large format of 800×1600 mm slabs amplified the effect significantly, making the surface experience feel immersive rather than decorative.

03 / THE RESULT

The Result

At the Morbi launch the metallic surface became the most discussed product in the room. Architects photographed it, competitors examined it closely and left without answers, and Sunheart's brand shifted from market participant to trend-setter in a single event. The product was later selected for showcase at Tecnargilla where it received recognition from European brands and global buyers. A surface developed from nothing in under 30 days went on to represent Indian ceramic innovation on a global stage.
